Transformative learning for degrowth recognizes the importance of nurturing multiple viewpoints and ways of knowing and doing to deepen our collective understanding. By learning from varied cultural practices, particularly indigenous wisdom, and being open to the pluriverse of alternatives, we deepen our insights into sustainability and justice, challenging monocultures and promoting inclusive solutions that respect the intertwined relationships within our ecosystems. Furthermore, we encourage learning from and with nature, weaving eco-social literacy into formal, non-formal, and everyday practices. These interconnections with humans and more-than-humans turn our focus toward embodied knowledge and regenerative practices that inspire hands-on learning experiences. By nurturing practices that emerge from diverse knowledge systems and center environmental justice, we create possibilities for collective flourishing beyond the growth paradigm.
